Post 9: English learning process

Hello teacher and classmates, I am going to tell you about my English learning process.

Learning English at University was difficult for me because I don't use this language frequently and the last time that I learn it was in school, around six years ago, so I don't remember basic things like grammar and correctly use of verbal tenses. In the class we didn't study these subjets from the basics and I needed re-learn this from internet.

However i had good teachers that facilitated the learning process, and my writing skills and my capacity of understand texts have been improved.

 Respect to blog, I felt very strange telling you about personal things, but it was funny to read about my classmates blogs and comments. I am starting to be careful with some details and improve my vocabulary.

I need improve my vocabulary, but mainly my pronunciation and fluency, it are very bad. I think do it...  when I´m in Internet and appears a little news in English, I try to read it. Also watch some series with subtitles can help. Now, I don't watch series neither movies in Spanish. 

Honestly, I hardly use English out of English classes. Some times I need to read little news or understand one video or software instruction. In my career I didn't need read more than 4 or 7 papers in English. I hope learn more English for study with not subtitled videos and learn other interesting things.

Post 8: 2014: Good and bad points

Hello teacher and classmates. Today I'm going to tell you some things that happened this year.

Some things didn't go so well:  my concentration skill is coming down, I like less study by the obligation. At least I can study and read some thing outside the university. This has been a stressful year, with many subject and few time for me. Also, I have a little injury in my ankle, and still not heal.

In the good things I can mention that I climbed many hills, they are beauty. I started to learn about climbing, on boulders and sport routes, and now I am improving my skills. In university I don't fail any subject... until now. Furthermore, I'm very happy in a relationship. 

In the list of the things that I still have to do this year, I can remember too many movies to watch, some of there for second time. Didn't result a long crossing by some hills, from Provincia (near Lo Barnechea), to El Manzano (in Cajón del Maipo). I'm thinking do it the next winter.

I still have hope of finish my piece of homework and my English blogs at time. The most important forgotten thing was learn about electronics, I did study a little in January and February, but when i start classes I didn't continue it. 

If I approve my subjects I will get my degree, and I going to rest some weeks before start to work.

Finally, it is a good year, I did some improtant things and other are pending. However, the balance is positive :) 

Post 7: Alto Maipo

Hello everyone, Today I am going to tell you about a disastrous project.

Alto Maipo is a hydroelectric project, It is being constructed in Cajòn del Maipo, near of Santiago. 

Preliminary studies began at 2006, and were rejected by authorities because the project had problems with its environmental impact. How ever, later was approved and actually the construction has begun.

The proyect consist exactlly in the construction of two run-of-the-river hydroelectric power plants, Alfalfal 2 and Las lajas. The benefits provided by AES GENER, the builder, are that this type of power plant have little environmental impact having no dams, it is an important contribution at electrical capacity of the country, the project will create many jobs and monetary benefits for the villager.

Some organizations have reported that the project was approved of irregular shape nd bring many environmental damage. It will cause desertification because put the rivers in an underground pipe, affecting the ecosystems. Energy produced would benefit some people (mining bussinesman), cause a great impact for the explosions an ways construction. This endangers the water supply to Santiago. In addition, this project going to limit access to mountaneeiring and travellers.

Construction progresses and blasting are destroying the mountains. People are organizing some groups for protest and demand a solution to authorities. Citizen coordinator is one of the most important organization and they have made some complaints but have not been successful... as yet.

Post 6 How green I'm

Hello everyone, today I going to tell you some things related to How green I'm.

I think that the people don´t learn much about environmentally friendly practices. In the school, only some times is thaugt really the importance of ecology and environmental problems, in any case the children are teaching how do green practices part of his life... only like a funny and restricted practice.
The interested people can learn about this topic from internet, some books or realizing a course like "leave no trace" or something similar. An ecologist friend is a good option to learn and ask questions.

Recycling don't is into my habits, because I dont´t know how to recycle and fabric myself a useful object. One time, many years ago, I tried to recycle paper, but the thing that resulted was very useless and fragile.

I like walk and ride bike, if it is possible,when I am visit nearly friend or kin, I prefer it instead of take a bus. But the most part of de time I need take a bus because the university and any other place that I visit are very far away from my house.

Only one time, in my primary education, I participated on a ecologic workshop, because it was important to teach the people the relevance of the environment.

I reused things like bags, electic wires and circuit. paper, etc. I think that I can reuse more objects like clothes, plastic and reduce my consumption to minimize my carbon footprint.

Finally I opine that is important the teaching the children from earlier ages about how living sustainably and protect the nature.  Political measures and laws are necessary to guarantee this, and interest in this topics from government more that economics.

Post 5: Anti psychiatry

Hello everybody, today I want to tell you about my favourite subjet: Anti psychiatry.

This subject is taught how a elective in psychology career, and its teacher is Carlos Perez Soto. He is a famed person that knows a lot about psychology, epistemology, physics, art and marxism.

It is the first year  that we can choose this subject and  many people is interested on this area.

The argument of the course consist in a new and radical look of the psychiatry and the "mental disorders". In first place, this ultimate concept is revised considering the historical relativity of the craziness, Actually, mental disorders are considered under the medical model; this would imply that is know a cause, its mechanism and consequences of a disorder. In fact, it is not really: the causes are uncertain by problems with techniques and the measures interpretation, the mechanism are unknow and the consecuences aren't classifiable rigorously in any way... then, "mental disorder" aren't a disease, can't be heal like one.  They are only a subjetive problem.

In anti psychiatry subjet the argument is not critical of the scientific method, evidence how the psichiatry really don`t use it.
Besides, the course analyze the medicalization of the problems, how tons of drugs are giving to the people without a real reason more than social control and business. The personalization of subjective problems is other anaized problem; social and political component are denied.

Finally, this subject has 3 assessment; we have to read some books and chapters, but we can learn important problems and discuse how solve them.

My future job

Hello!

Today I am going to tell you about my future job and the related plans.

In first place, I am not sure of what kind of job I will do like a psychologist. I will be an educational psychologist, and I imagine that I will work in an investigation center, an ONG or I would like to teach about some topics in schools.

I would like to travel a lot in my job, I like  meet other places, take photographs and eat different and tasty things.

I wouldn't work all the time, 45 hours per week, in a office, I like the nature and I will need travel in my job, or work in outdoors, in a mountain park, with climbers like a sport psychologist  or have time for it.

Also, I want complement my job, with others thing that like me, for example, mountaineering and climbing,  I am thinking how is possible, in the future. complement it with my major. And I like learn about different topics, for example: computer sciences, electricity and electronics. And I also will need time for it...

Finally, I don't know if I going to take a specialization in psychology after i get my degree. I think that the job is only an important part of our lifes; when your job is all for you it can be a problem in the future, the idea is that your form of live is your work, and you enjoy it :)

Best Holidays

Hello

My best holidays was on march of  this year. After work and rest for university, I went to Cajon del Maipo, specifically at a Morado Glacier Lagoon, on the end of Arena's Valley.

The travel wasn´t long, only two days, but was the perfect moment to rest and distract me before continue with university.

I went with a friend, and we met two  people when we did auto-stop  and shared a part of the trip.

I did many things: in first time, I walked around seven hours from Baños Morales, a little village that is the last bus stop, to the lagoon, watching wonderful landscapes like the impressive San José Volcano, Arenas Hill, a little stuary, many mountains, and finally Morado hill and its huge hanging glacier.

We assemble the tent and slept near the lagoon with very strong wind. 

I took many pictures and at the second day, I climb the Union hill, that is near to the camp. I recorded a video on the summit and I took more photos of a little bird. When I was descending I fell a few meters and in the base of the hill I watched for a moment an unknown  animal like a Pudú or Taruca.

It has been the best holidays because I enjoyed it to much, I met a new and beauty place.

Finally, I am thinking go back there this year for more days, three or four, for not to be concerned about the time and can do more things.
